Darío Guerrero
Darío was born in the Eastern Jungle of Ecuador, in the town of Shell. He grew up in Puyo and accepted the Lord at the age of 7. When he was 20, he moved to a city towards the mountains, and worked for a while, then ended up in Quito. God began to give him a vision for linguistics and unreached people groups. Darío began studying in the university in Quito, where Youth World staff met him and offered him a part-time job simply helping around the office.
Dario began in the Youth World office organizing the store, and then helping in the accounting office running errands and processing receipts. During this time, he continued to study linguistics, all with the end vision of serving God overseas with an unreached people group, either in Papua New Guinea, in Western Africa or as he strongly feels, wherever God would have him serve Him.
As Darío continued to work around the Youth World office, the team began to get to know him better, his heart, and his desire to be a missionary. Once in a while, they would ask him to help with Spanish translation... Then they realized he was proficient in 3 languages: Spanish, English, French.
In the summer of 2006, Dario joined the summer intern staff, hosting short-term teams from North America. Darío did an incredible job translating, leading, hosting, and interpreting the Latin culture to these mission groups.
By October of this year, as Darío finishes his last year of linguistics studies in university, he has joined the short-term department full-time, networking and visiting ministry partners all over Ecuador, leading and hosting teams, and doing special projects.
Dario serves faithfully, and has a joy about him that is contagious! Pray for Darío as he serves and prepares for whatever God brings his way!
