Stories from La Red JuvenilIn January 2007, La Red Juvenil began Youth Ministry Training with Level 1 – a focus on youth ministry and leadership. In May 2008, a group of 12 leaders worked hard for 4 weeks and completed the second level of training. Level 2 brings depth to leaders in youth ministry through spiritual disciplines and sensitivity towards young people with AID’s. With La Red Juvenil’s Director, Ivet Castro hosting, and a La Red Juvenil partnership called Camino de Salida leading worship and teachings, youth ministry is changing its face in Ecuador. “With Level 1,” says Ivet Castro, “We try to give a panoramic view of youth ministry and how to be a good leader. In Level 2, we challenge them to go further in their personal relationship with God by developing spiritual disciplines.” Level 3 Training will commence in 2009. Prayer Request: La Red’s next event, “Fe Extrema” Convention in Bolivia, July 21 – August 1, 2008. Pray for Ivet and Agus who are leading the La Red group, as well as two workshops at the convention. Also, pray that God would pour out encouragement and refreshment to everyone that attends, as well as a sense of renewed vision for youth ministry. by Jenny Luth
MULTIPLICATION I have had the privilege of training a group of 8 Episcopal youth leaders over the last 10 months here in Ecuador. Then we were invited to a church in Santo Domingo to train youth leaders there. It was awesome to see leaders that I have trained training others, and then see that training applied immediately.
