NEWS FROM LA RED

The First La Red School Class Brad and Cameron Teaching at the La Red School
LA RED School of Youth Ministry
Our La Red Ministry, training national youth workers in Ecuador, launched the “La Red School of Youth Ministry”. 18 students participated in our first 6-week course covering a foundation in Youth Ministry! The response was wonderful, and our goal is that these youth workers will apply all that they learned into their churches and youth ministries! We’ll run a second course this summer!
Pray specifically that these leaders are encouraged and that they don’t feel that they’re alone!
La Red 2006 La Red Convention a Success!

The 10th Annual La Red Convention was held in Quito at the end of April 2006. Over 320 leaders, representing over 60 churches, gathered for 4 days of training, teaching, worship and celebration together. 750 leaders and young people joined us for a special concert and celebration! These leaders impact the young people of our country! The more we can pour into them, the better equipped they will be to serve their church, these young people, and God! Leaders were challenged, they were given practical resources and they were energized by being with other leaders from across the country! Thank you for praying with us, for giving to this event and to celebrating with us 10 years of La Red (The Net) in Ecuador!
La Red International Summit - July 2006
River, Pancho and Santiago In July, 3 La Red offices in Latin America, and a new partner ministry, came together in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Santiago and Ivet traveled from Ecuador, Pancho came from Cuba, River is in Bolivia, and Aaron and Miguel traveled from Chile (pictured right). These leaders gathered together for 2 reasons:
First, they participated in and celebrated in the 6th Annual Youth Workers Convention held in Bolivia. Over 300 leaders gathered for a weekend of training, worship and encouragement as Youth Workers look for practical resources to use in their ministries.
Second, these leaders gathered for 2 days to talk about our cooperation and strategic vision together. La Red Juvenil was born in Ecuador, and we have formal offices and ministries in Cuba and Bolivia, where hundreds of youth workers are trained and touched each year. Chile had their first youth workers convention this summer in Santiago. La Red Chile was expecting 500 youth workers to gather together for the first time in this country (pictured below).
The La Red Summit was simply a desire for these leaders and ministries to continue to work together, to support each other and to build deeper relationships as they all pursue the goal of identifying, equipping and training youth workers in their perspective countries.
