Growing in community in God's Love
Greetings and Blessings to Everyone! I hope this letter finds everyone doing extremely well! First and foremost, thank you so much for all of your prayers and all of your many blessings. We see the grace of them each and every day in Argelia and various other communities. As most of you already know, we are in the process of building various programs in 7 major communities of Quito: Argelia, Cutuglagua, Zambiza (The Dump), Comuna, Rancho de los Pinos, Forestal, and the Indigenous areas. The main area of focus being:
Community Impact
Spiritual: Remanso de Amor Community Church. We are in the midst of planting churches in several areas
Social/Health: Nutrition, Dental, Medical, Help pregnant mothers, Children 0-5 years and 7-18 years, Elderly
Education: Pre-Kinder, Kinder, High School, Distance Program, Extension of University, treaning leaders in 7 communities and seminary.
Micro-Business: Food & Cooking, Knitting, Sewing & Mending, Beauty Missions
As of right now, we are currently praying for the initialization of the construction of the 3rd and 4th floors of Remanso and the finalization of the baptismal pool located just outside the sanctuary. God has worked in marvelous ways for Remanso over the past couple of months. Here is some history and news for you to enjoy!
- Construction of the baptismal pool/waterfall has been completed. 25 people have been baptized (2 being from Nashville, TN)! Some minor details of construction need to be finished!
- House visits have been going very well! Carlota, Rita, and Silvia go house to house spreading the word of the Bible, doing activities with the kids, speaking with the familiies, and simply showing compassion! Their lives have been altered along with those they speak with every day. The family's relationship with God has been changed as they come into the church more often; more kids are enrolled in school while they are also learning how to spread the love of God not only to each other but to surrounding communities. This program will commence in the 6 other areas over the course of this month.
- A doctor from the States came about a week ago and treated over 70 patients (moms and children); he handed out vitamins and medicines. There is a necessity for much more! Government doctors are currently staffed at Remanso this week giving injections and medicines to the children 7-18 years of age.
- Jonathan Rivera, age 8 years: Has had 2 successful cleft palate surgeries and listens/hears much better; dental work is still needed! He is doing much betterin school and continues to blossom every day!
- Jessica Ushigua, age 9 years: Helping with 2 surgeries but these have been unsuccessful. Keep her in your prayers!
- Education: Youth people and moms finish highschool in Remanso! Training pastors and leaders in different communiites; Remanso/Facela has made an agreement with one university for a bachelor's degree in Theology!
News and Necessities: Your Prayers are Needed!
- Remanso is big but God is even bigger!
- Everyone is part of the vision!

Please continue to raise your prayers up. He listens and responds in a bigger way that we could ever expect. By the way, my name is Abigail and I have been blessed to be with Ramiro and the Remanso community over the summer. Ramiro wanted me to update all on what I have observed at Remanso since my here in Ecuador. It has been truely amazing and we promise you, He is answering your prayers. It might be slowly, but this is a definite truth. We see it in the smiles and the tears, the laughs and the hugs, the hands, and the interactions. His beauty is everywhere and we have been truely blessed to be part of such a wonderful community where God's presence and love is seen in every moment.
If you have any questions or concerns of would like to make any donations, please contact Ramiro Maldonado by EMAIL. Donations for any cause would be greatly appreciated. Thank You and God Bless You,
Ramiro, Jenny, Jonathan, Karlita, and Abigail
