Youth World Staff
Howard and Mary Scholl, along with their two youngest children Danielle and Jonathan, arrived to serve with Youth World at El Refugio, the retreat and training center located in Calacali, Ecuador. Howard serves as Director of Operations on the property. The Scholl’s were self employed for 21 years in Southern California. Six years ago, they visited Ecuador on a short term mission’s trip, at which time they felt the Lord’s call on their lives to serve in some capacity on the mission field. The process to arrive in Ecuador took about three years, and the Scholl’s are glad to finally arrive and get to work. Mary is currently home schooling Danielle, who will be a Junior and Jonathan who will be in the eighth grade. They have three kids who live, go to school and work in California. Nicole is a Cal Poly San Luis graduate with a degree in Animal Science. Bridget is currently employed by Wells Fargo and pursuing a degree in interior design. Kevin will be a Junior at BIOLA University, double majoring in English and Photography. The Bible verse the Scholl’s have adopted for their family is from Psalms 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble.” Their desire is simply to be obedient to the Lord as they walk this new road with Him.
