Christy Stumbo
Christy was raised in eastern Montana and Wyoming, but spent the most recent years before coming to Ecuador in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has two older brothers, both married with kids, and she loves to hang out with her five nieces and nephews. Her parents own and manage a Christian radio station in Wyoming where Christy and her brothers all “starred” as very amateur radio announcers.
Christy headed to MN in 1997 and through several short-term missions to Ecuador, she eventually decided she would rather stay put instead of popping in and out all the time. In 2004, she interned with Casa Gabriel and after a year, realized she had a lot to learn about life and ministry and walking daily with God. She returned to the States but by God’s grace returned to Ecuador a year and a half later. Her plan is to stay in Ecuador until God says otherwise.
Christy works as the Coordinator for Short-Term Teams. She also performs with the worship band, Gedeón. Gedeón is a bilingual Christian band that seeks to worship God and draw others closer to Him through music.
Christy loves coffee (better yet…café con leche), spending time outdoors, camping, downhill skiing, Brussels sprouts (yes, really), the beach, interior design, watching movies, coffee, the NFL, traveling and Pad Thai.
